Senior mullah presses on shifting UN headquarters from the United States, after Washington delayed issuing entry visa to mullah-run majlis speaker Hadad Adel to attend the annual inter-parliamentary session at the UN.

"The turn for US to house the UN headquarter has come to end, and it is better to change the United Nations headquarters venue", mullah Rafsanjani told reporters on Thursday in Tehran.

However, mullah said that the move is not an easy one.

The former mullah president has thrown weight behind UN reforms, but he cautioned against giving a chance to the world imperialism to deviate the reforms to their own benefit.

World parliamentarians slammed the United States at their meeting in New York for dragging feet on issuing visa for Iranian Parliament Speaker Gholam Ali Hadad Adel known as "Gholam Shire'i" in majlis, and denying to give visa to Cuban parliament speaker."
