Abtahi balks at joining Karrubis new party: "Abtahi balks at joining Karrubi’s new party
TEHRAN, Aug. 31 (MNA) – Former presidential advisor Seyyed Mohammad Ali Abtahi said here on Wednesday that he would not leave the Assembly of Combatant Clerics (ACC) to join Mahdi Karrubi’s newly established party.
At a ceremony held to commemorate the anniversary of Imam Musa Sadr’s disappearance, Abtahi told reporters that none of the ACC members were interested in leaving the organization.

Prior to this, at the recent congress of the National Confidence Party, Karrubi had invited former president Mohammad Khatami and ACC member Mousavi Khoiniha to join his new party.

Meanwhile, Rasul Montajebnia, who is one of the senior members of the ACC, has joined Karrubi’s party while retaining his membership in the ACC."
