TEHRAN (MNA) -- Following the distribution of a fake letter in Khuzestan Province, a number of MPs representing Khuzestan in the Majlis called on the interior minister on Sunday to expel the employees of Qatar’s Aljazeera television network from Iran for their measures meant to provoke Iranian nationals of Arab origin to rise up against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Majlis to probe Education Ministry

Majlis deputies ratified a bill calling for a probe of the Ministry of Education on Sunday.

Of the 218 legislators present, 135 MPs voted in favor of the bill.

Speaker tells newspapers to avoid misquoting MPs

In response to an MP’s notification, Majlis Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel said here on Sunday that newspapers should be careful to avoid misquoting MPs.

MP Mohammad Hossein Farhangi, who represents Tabriz in the Majlis, has noted that during the Noruz holidays, newspapers misquoted his remarks on price hikes.

He also called on the Majlis Presiding Board to take the measures necessary to defend the dignity of the Majlis.

Lawmaker criticizes administration officials for failing to reply to MPs

MP Mohammad Hadi Rabbani, who represents Shiraz in parliament, on Sunday criticized administration officials for failing to reply to the notifications of Majlis deputies and called on the Majlis Presiding Board to investigate the matter.

Rabbani said that MPs’ correspondences with administration officials mostly go unanswered or are referred to lower-ranking officials."
