Abuse of prisoners is morally wrong

As a Christian and an American I am deeply shocked by the abuse of prisoners by American and British troops in Iraq. Now the excuse given is that the soldiers were not aware of the Geneva Convention as it relates to treatment of prisoners. I suppose that means that the soldiers were also unfamiliar with the Bible or any other standard of human decency. Have Iraqis tortured prisoners in that same prison. Of Course they have. That is not the point. There are standards of decency given by God and burned into our consciences. If one breaks that standard then they must be punished. We must not sink to the level of our opponents or else we lose even when we win.
