LONDON, Nov 1 (IranMania) - “The Iranian Parliament does not oppose the privatization of state companies.” the Parliament’s Economic Commission’s rapporteur was quoted as saying by Iran’s Abrar Eqtesadi Daily.

On the opposition of a number of MPs to the issue, Iraj Nadimi stated: “The only opposition was to the privatization of mother companies. However the MPs believe that the privatization regulations need amendments. This concern of the MPs will be soon removed by the revision of Article 44 of the Iranian Constitution by the Guardian Council.”

Referring to the Guardian Council’s ratification concerning the halt in the government’s direct intervention in economic affairs, Nadimi noted: “Once the new ratification is put into effect, the private sector will be provided with more opportunities.”"
