India has denied recent U.S. allegations that two of its scientists sold weapons of mass destruction technology to Iran.
A spokesman with India's Foreign Ministry Navtej Sarna said the two men, C. Surendar and Y.S.R. Prasad, had sold neither banned materials nor sensitive technology to Iran.

The spokesman also said India has asked the United States to withdraw sanctions against the two scientists.

Earlier this week, the U.S. State Department imposed sanctions against the two scientists and 12 other foreign companies or individuals for selling missile or weapons of mass destruction technology to Iran.

The measures bar those listed from doing business with the U.S. government or buying hi-tech equipment for two years. "
