TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said Saturday Tehran has given Saudi Arabia 'useful' information on Al-Qaeda members it has detained, but insisted that any extraditions would only be according to the Islamic republic's 'national interests'.
'The very fact that we are detaining Al-Qaeda members in our prisons and that we are preventing them from having any contact with the outside world is in itself a useful act in the struggle against terrorism,' Kharrazi told a news a conference.
'Saudi Arabia and other countries know very well that the detention of these people is an important action,' Kharrazi said, when asked about talks here this week with Saudi Justice Minister Abdullah Mohammed Ibrahim al-Sheikh.
'We are in constant contact with the Saudis and we have supplied them with useful information,' Kharrazi said as quoted by AFP."
