Azerbaijan keen to expand border trade with Iran

Iran, Azerbaijan keen to expand border trade exchange: "Baku, May 14, IRNA -- In a meeting held in Baku (state) University here on Friday, a visiting Iranian delegation and Azeri officials xamined ways of expanding border trade exchanges between Iran and the neighboring Azerbaijan.
In the meeting, Astara Governor Mohammad Akhavan, heading the
Iranian delegation, referred to expansion of border trade as a
significant measure contributing to broadening mutual economic and cultural relations.
Turning to Iran`s attempts to expand such exchanges, he added that the neighboring countries moves to this end could be effective in developing regional cooperation, tackling unemployment, improving the welfare of residents of border areas and campaign against smuggling of goods. "
